A fantastic effort from Fantasay and jockey Corey Bayliss, has seen the pair claim the BM 62 (1100m) at Toowoomba today, in a race that had it all.

Missing the start noticeably as the gates opened, Fantasy settled last and was close enough to a dozen lengths from the leading as the field charged through the first 300m of the event.

Making the home turn, the leader had three lengths advantage over the rest of the field who had bunched.

It was at this point that Bayliss made an telling move. Instead of hooking around the field from last, he waited and was able to secure a run inside horses which, it later proved, saved him valuable ground.

With clearing running ahead of him at the top of the straight, Fantasay began to move into the race – at the same time, the outside horse hung in dramatically, tightening the horse directly on his inside who in turn, hampered Fantasay significantly.

Again, Bayliss horsemanship was to the fore has he ensure Fantasay was kept balance to his best of his ability.

When the scrimmage was over, Fantasy emerged in front and found when challenged late to record a dramatic, and well-deserved victory for both horse and jockey.
